Grün Berlin Foundation

The Grün Berlin Foundation was founded in 2012 and is responsible for project implementation, construction and project management, creating new recreational, open spaces and parks of public and cultural significance as part of the Grün Berlin Group.

The Grün Berlin Foundation works for the State of Berlin on distinguished open space planning projects that are of urban development or urban policy interest beyond the Berlin region or require interdisciplinary management involving various administrative bodies. The Foundation also takes on special projects whose spatial and functional dimensions extend beyond the boundaries of individual urban districts.

A nine-member board monitors the foundation’s work. Dipl.-Ing. Christoph Schmidt is Chairman of the Board of Management.
