IGA Berlin 2017 GmbH

Starting in April 2017, the Internationale Garden Exhibition (IGA) Berlin 2017 will be held on 100 hectares in Berlin’s eastern district of Marzahn-Hellersdorf. The IGA site, which links the Gärten der Welt, the extensive Wuhletal and Kienberg green spaces, and Marzahn’s distinctive tower block skyline, provides the best conditions for showcasing diverse and surprising international garden design, urban landscapes and green culture. The 2017 IGA will turn Berlin into a green urban laboratory of the future and an international showcase for the diversity, beauty and transformative power of contemporary garden and landscape design.

As well as the IGA site, a new park landscape extending the Gärten der Welt, a cableway and the new Kienberg Park are all being built in Marzahn-Hellersdorf.

IGA Berlin 2017 GmbH, a subsidiary of Grün Berlin GmbH founded in June 2010, is organising and carrying out the 2017 International Garden Exhibition. The company’s majority shareholder is Grün Berlin GmbH and the Deutsche Bundesgartenschau Gesellschaft is a co-shareholder.

The company’s CEOs are Dipl.-Ing. Christoph Schmidt and Katharina Lohmann.
