Platz der Luftbrücke

The Platz der Luftbrücke is a heavily used traffic junction between the districts of Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg and Tempelhof-Schöneberg; a place steeped in history and a garden monument at the same time. In order to meet the diverse challenges of a growing city and to unite the different demands on the square, the area will be redesigned in the coming years into a sustainable open space with a showcase character – for and with the residents and Berliners.

The goal is to promote sustainability, climate resilience and environmentally friendly mobility, and to fulfil people's need for neighbourhoods with a high quality of life.

Thus, Platz der Luftbrücke is one of the first major reference projects of the Charta für das Berliner Stadtgrün, and stands as a model for the innovative and sustainable development of transport and open spaces in the capital.
