The International Garden Exhibition Berlin 2017 will be held from April to October 2017 in Marzahn-Hellersdorf. The IGA site will take in the existing Gardens of the World , the spacious Wuhletal valley, the Kienberg (the future Kienbergpark and Marzahn’s striking tower block skyline.
The development of a new 100-hectare park landscape at the International Garden Exhibition 2017 site reflects the relationship between the city, suburbs and urban periphery against the background of the fast-growing city of Berlin.
The major IGA Berlin 2017 project and “Implementation of the tourism master plan for the Gardens of the World” network forward-looking urban and landscape development with issues around the promotion of local areas and business, social participation and ‘green’ lifestyle culture.
The “Internationale Gartenkabinette” display gardens and Gardens of the World form the nucleus of an international dialogue among cultures. The best landscape architects from five continents impressively show how a contemporary dialogue among different world cultures can develop through garden artistry.
