The ropeway is an essential part of the sustainable concept of the IGA Berlin 2017. As with many other highlights (e.g. the Arena in the Gärten der Welt), the subsequent use was taken into account from the very beginning. Thus, after the end of the IGA, the user-friendly and fast transport connection to the Berlin city center could be ensured by the connection to the subway line U5 as well as the barrier-free inner development of the former IGA site in a future-oriented way. This is an added value not only for visitors to the park: In everyday life, the ropeway as the fastest connection between Marzahn and Hellersdorf has long since confirmed its importance in the traffic mix for local residents.
